KTF Announces HSDPA Equipment Suppliers

KTF (Korea Telecom Freehold) has selected LG and Samsung as their HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) equipment suppliers, in which Samsung will build up systems in Gyeongsang and Jeolla by June 2006 while LG will provide equipment for 17 base stations around Seoul. KTF, reported to invest 200 billion won in the first phase, is expected to sign a contract with LG in September 2005. In the future, LG is also likely to provide equipment for Gangwon and Chung-cheong area.
